ABOUT

Back for its third year, BOPP is a community-fueled design conference for the creatives who work in the beer and beverage space.

The content at BOPP is meant to inspire, educate, and connect artists and designers in the beer industry and beyond.

This year's conference was hosted at Sarabande, a brand new event space located in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood.

We believe BOPP is more than a conference. With intentional hospitality (you'll eat and drink well), frank and honest conversation (there's no pretense here), and ample opportunities for networking (with sticker packs, not business cards), we’re proud of the experience we’ve built. But don't take our word for it, see what past attendees have to say:

"I'm not a huge fan of professional conferences in general, but this was genuinely awesome."

"BOPP is just a great resource all around, enjoyable and affordable."

"This is my superbowl."

"I will be a BOPP lifer 😄"

"Had a wonderful time and this is a highlight of my year. This community that has formed and strengthened as a result of BOPP is extremely valuable."

BOPP 2024 – In Dreams

Inspired by messy studios and daydreams, this year’s BOPP theme is aptly named “In Dreams.” Like paint on a blank canvas (literally), the design embraces human nature and the beauty of a living, breathing artwork. Primary colors of red, yellow, and blue are flanked by sturdy black and white as loose sketches and concepts are brought to life — squiggles, filled in organic forms, coffee mugs, picture frames, and so much more are built to embrace one’s own creative space.

“In Dreams” was chosen as a theme walking out of last year’s BOPP. Attendees left the conference feeling a sense of community and connection fueled by a passion to create. By stripping our palette down to primary colors — juxtaposed by organic forms and loose, textured illustrations — the intention is to embrace this feeling of togetherness that’s built over the course of two days and inspire us long after the conference is over.

As we get closer to BOPP, the featured artwork will morph over time. Like an artist’s skillset and preferences, we are leaning into change and growth, and hope that is reflected within this year’s visual brand identity.

Previous Conferences

The first year of BOPP exceeded our wildest dreams. The conference sold out and attendees jammed into the stunning Pilot Project Brewing space for one and a half days of content from creatives like Austin Dunbar of Durham Studio, Alana Louise, Frances MacLeod, and many more.

2023

2022

BOPP quickly became a place where presenters spoke with ease and candor, pulling back the curtain on their own projects and work flow. The creative community that grew out of that shared experience continues to flourish in their various corners of the industry, and is known for it's warm welcome and mutual support.

In 2023 we moved to Greenhouse Loft where we were able to host even more creatives from across the country with speakers like Dan Grzeca, Nana Nozaki, and Sean Topping.
